Dayone Inc. ("Dayone," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we store it, and what rights you have regarding your data.

This policy applies to all users of dayonehiring.com and the Fairness Transcript Service.

We collect this information through standard web analytics tools (Google Analytics 4) and Wix's built-in analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Generate Fairness Transcripts based on your inputs
Create and manage your account
Process payments and send invoices
Send transactional emails (welcome, purchase confirmation, cancellation, expiration reminders)
Improve the Service based on usage patterns (in aggregate, not individually)
Respond to your questions or support requests
Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your Fairness Transcript inputs to train AI models, build profiles, or sell to third parties.

3. How We Store Your Information

Fairness Transcript data (trial version): Trial Fairness Transcripts are generated and stored locally in your web browser (localStorage). This data never leaves your device unless you choose to print or save the transcript. Dayone does not have access to trial transcript data.

Fairness Transcript data (paid version): Paid Fairness Transcripts are generated in your browser. If server-side storage is enabled, transcripts may be stored on our secure servers to provide the Bias Assessment Dashboard, transcript history, and trend tracking features. This data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

Account and payment data: Account information is stored securely by our website platform (Wix). Payment information is processed and stored by our payment processor (Stripe via Wix Payments). Dayone does not store credit card numbers or full payment credentials on our systems.

Email addresses collected through the free trial: Email addresses submitted through the free trial email gate are stored by Dayone for the purpose of follow-up communication about the Service. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 5).

4. Who We Share Your Information With

We share your information only with the following categories of service providers, solely as needed to operate the Service:

Wix: Website hosting and member management
Stripe (via Wix Payments): Payment processing
Google Analytics: Website usage analytics (anonymized/aggregated)

We do not sell, rent, lease, or trade your personal information to any third party. Ever.

We may disclose information if required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Dayone Inc. or others.

5. Your Rights

All users

You have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal information
Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information and account
Objection: Object to our processing of your personal information for certain purposes
Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act:

Contract performance: Processing necessary to provide the Service you requested

You have the right to withdraw consent at any time, lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, and request restriction of processing.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specifically:

Account data: Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 90 days of account closure upon request.
Fairness Transcript data (server-side): Retained while your account is active. Deleted within 90 days of account closure upon request.
Free trial email addresses: Retained for up to 24 months from collection. You may request earlier deletion at any time.
Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required for tax and accounting compliance.
Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized. Not linked to individual accounts after 26 months.

7. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website and improve your experience.

Essential cookies

Required for the website to function. These include session cookies, authentication cookies, and security cookies. You cannot opt out of essential cookies.

Analytics cookies

Used to understand how visitors interact with the website (Google Analytics). These cookies collect anonymized usage data. You may opt out through the cookie consent banner.

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.
